“friends” is about a relationship that was once intimate but became rotten due to the malignity that a globalized world can bring. A pure relationship once in existence has now been overcome by temptations to “grow up”, break away from all that was dear. It’s about one who is willing to sacrifice their friendship for self-worship, societal praise, power, and idols of success. But that comes at a tragic cost of a lost friendship and a mourning forgotten friend.
